Community Managed Mental Health Programs

The Community Mental Health Sector provides a wide range of programs and services. The following are some of the key programs funded by Commonwealth and State Governments and provided by Community Managed Organisations (CMOs). The Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaMs)

  • community integration support
  • connection to leisure & vocational services

Recovery and Resource Services Program (RRSP)

  • establishing community links
  • transition to independent living and employment

Day to Day Living in the Community (D2DL)

  • Structured activity programs to support independent living
  • Access to social and educational activities

The Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI)

  • housing linked to clinical and psychosocial rehabilitation services
  • tailored for people with a range of psychiatric disabilities.

Programs and Services for Families and Carers of People with Mental Illness include:

  • Mental Health Respite and Carer Support
  • Family Mental Health Support Services
  • The Mental Health Family and Carer Support

Employment Services

  • disability employment support
  • assisting people into employment

Headspace centres

  • youth specific mental health services
  • holistic on-site support
