National ILC Project – Reimagine Stage 2

Help us improve the NDIS journey for our communities

NDIS Access by Diverse Communities

With funding through the NDIA’s Information, Linkages and Capacity building (ILC) Grants (Round 2), we are working to ensure reimagine.today is more accessible to a broader range of communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ people and people living in rural and remote areas. Through national engagement with these diverse communities, we will co-design new resources for reimagine.today that improve support for NDIS access by people in these communities.

To provide input into this process:
  • More co-design sessions coming up soon!

  • Contact: Project Manager, Elisabeth Wilkinson on 02 9555 8388 (ext 127) or elisabeth@mhcc.org.au
Developing National Networks

In addition to enhancing accessibility for diverse communities, we are establishing state-based peer-led networks in NSW/ACT, NT, QLD, SA, TAS and VIC of people living with psychosocial disability, their carers, family and professional supporters. These networks will promote the reimagine.today resource and support the further development of priority skill-building areas of the website to improve general access to the NDIS for people with lived experience of mental health conditions. These national networks are being directed by Peer Leaders working with their communities to share information about reimagine.today and forge relationships with health services, communities, community mental health services and individuals.

Keep up to date with our network:
Building skills for the NDIS

Workshops, consultations and information sessions provided through these networks will support ongoing development of essential skills for people wanting to or already accessing the NDIS, including self-advocacy, decision-making and self-management. Consultations will inform the design of new e-learning materials for reimagine.today, that will support the needs of people accessing the NDIS into the future.

FREE upcoming workshops / information sessions:
  • Western Sydney – 4th and 18th June
  • ACT – 1st and 2nd July

To register for a FREE session, please contact:
NSW/ACT Peer Leader, Grahame Richards on 02 9555 8388 (ext 116) or grahame@mhcc.org.au
