This course encompasses:
• The competence required to work collaboratively with people with mental health issues in their rehabilitation
• Working with consumer networks
• The ability to apply principles of prevention, health promotion and early intervention when supporting people with mental health issues
• The ability to work with people who have complex needs
• Skills in working with carers and families, including children of people with mental illness
Candidates for assessment will complete classroom activities and submit two case studies evidencing ability to work collaboratively with people with mental health issues including use of prevention and early intervention strategies in carrying out this work and demonstrating ability to assess the needs of carers and families and to work with them in meeting the needs of people with mental health issues.
