Skills Recognition Program
This Skills Recognition Program aims to provide mental health workers with the opportunity to achieve eight units from the Certificate IV in Mental Health through an innovative and interactive workshop format.

This workshop is conducted over two days and is highly interactive.

Who is this for?
The Skills Recognition Program is designed for experienced mental health workers who would like their skills and knowledge recognised against eight national units of competency from the Certificate IV in Mental Health CHC40508. This is not a training workshop. It will guide you through both days as well as providing the range of tools and documents you will be required to complete and submit for assessment purposes.
Selection Criteria
You must have a minimum of 2 years experience in mental health to be eligible to undertake this program.
You must be currently working with people with mental illnesses as part of your day to day work. Participants must also be able to read and write English to a standard that allows them to read, understand and follow OHS instructions, read workplace procedures, and write case notes. MHCC can provide some assistance through reasonable adjustment processes, and provide appropriate referrals for support.

If you have assessed you are a suitable candidate for recognition after reviewing the documents and completing the Candidate Self Assessment Tool and Supervisor Report, please download and submit an enrolment form.
For people currently enrolled in the Certificate IV in Mental Health
If you are already enrolled in the Certificate IV in Mental Health but would like to fast track completion and have a minimum of 2 years experience you may still be able to participate in the Skills Recognition Program. Pathways to completing the full qualification
Once you have completed the Recognition Process and gained your Statement of Attainment for the 8 units of competency. You only need to complete 7 more units (3 compulsory units and 4 elective units) to be awarded the full qualification.
MHCC is offering candidates the opportunity to complete the full qualification. The remaining units can be obtained through face to face training on a fee for service basis or other skills recognition processes.
