Leadership in Action (LIA)

Current and emerging managers from the community sector are invited to engage in a dynamic and unique course based on Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence theory. This course will provide a variety of useful and practical tools which will increase effectiveness as a manager and enhance leadership skills.

The course is suitable for new and existing managers in community services including frontline supervisors, team leaders, program managers and coordinators. Participants must have the opportunity to supervise staff throughout the program.

MHCC also offers an LIA course for Aboriginal Managers that is tailored specifically to meet the learning styles of Indigenous groups, with culturally appropriate content.

Your Training Pathway

The Advanced Diploma (LIA) is completed in 10 days over 12 months using a mixture of two day workshops and four additional interactive webinars.

Entry Requirements

The LIA course is suitable for new and experienced managers, or for managers ‘acting-up’ in a management role, with a minimum of one year’s experience leading a team. To be eligible to participate in this course, applicants must be currently supervising a team of staff in their workplace.
