This course covers:
• The legal and organisational requirements in carrying out a work role in the Mental Health sector
• The knowledge and skills to understand and work in a manner consistent with an individual’s role and responsibilities.
• The ability to work in an ethical manner


Candidates for assessment will complete in-class activities and demonstrate knowledge of the legal and ethical framework that underpins the sector. They will also demonstrate ability to apply this knowledge to the candidate’s own work practices. Achievement of this unit also involves the ability to work according to your own work role, boundaries and responsibilities evidenced by an assignment which includes a report on Legal and Organisational Requirements and a case study on Ethical Work Practices.
