In October / November MHCC will be running a new training course ‘Smoking Cessation for Community Mental Health’.

The course is open to any workers in the Community Mental Health sector to provide the skills and knowledge to educate and support mental health consumers around nicotine dependence. The course will also provide information on strategies that are relevant to the sector to assist workers and organisations to address smoking.

‘I feel fortunate to have been able to facilitate the Breath Easy Program. Not only was I able to address my own smoking, but I was able to participate in educating others. Addressing one’s smoking habits is extremely challenging, and in this difficult area it was great to witness the warmth and growth that came from the group support and learning.’  Lea – (support worker)

Duration: 2 days

Course dates:
11 & 12 October
23 & 24 November

Cost: $300 for members
$400 for non members

Courses will also be conducted throughout 2011. To register your interest in attending this course complete the enrolment form or contact training@mhcc.org.au or 9555-8388 ext 105.
