Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment addresses the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to deliver training and assessment in a range of contexts to a range of audiences, including workplaces, training rooms, one-on-one facilitation and large group delivery.
The qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
The National Skills and Standards Council has determined that from 1 July 2013 trainers must hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from the TAE10 Training and Assessment Training Package as a minimum qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalence of competencies.

Choose Your Training Pathway
There are three different pathways available for individuals to complete the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Face to face training
The face to face training mode of delivery consists of 3 clusters. The qualification consists of 10 units (7 core and 3 electives). See Overview of units.
To complete the requirements for this qualification participants need to have an opportunity to train and assess in a work context.
Who is this for?
This qualification assumes that participant’s are engaged in a training and education environment or has a vocational skill at a level that supports training and education in the subject area in which it is intended to train.
Job roles associated with this qualification relate to the delivery of training and assessment of competence within the VET sector. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include:
- enterprise trainer
- enterprise assessor
- registered training organisation (RTO) trainer
- registered training organisation (RTO) assessor
- training adviser or training needs analyst
- vocational education teacher.
