Community Rehabilitation Support Worker
Full-time Position available – Neami Hunter Valley / Maitland

State Training Officer VIC/SA/WA
Ever wanted a role supporting and building the skills of staff? Then you might want to consider a role in the Neami Training Team. The Neami Training Team is dedicated to providing the latest evidence based, values based and accredited training to staff as a way of assisting them to support consumers through their recovery journey.
Neami is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person with skills and experience in psychosocial rehabilitation to assist in providing training services to our staff. This position will be based in Victoria.
Individuals who have a passion for educating, supporting and developing others are encouraged to apply.
Training Officers deliver local training, provide administrative support to the National Training Team in their local area, and assist in the development of training content as appropriate. Training Officers are supported by the National Training Team Manager and those with an interest in training but no experience are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should have well developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills as well a strong commitment to consumer rights and participation in mental health services and the wider community.
A salary of up to $55,528 will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Neami offers generous salary packaging which can substantially increase the take home pay.

Compeer Program Coordinator, Newcastle

A rewarding opportunity exists to join one of Australia’s largest operating charities working with the Compeer Program. Compeer is an international award-winning program that links community volunteers in one-to-one friendship relationships with people who have become socially isolated through mental illness.
This position requires qualifications and/or experience working within the field of mental health. The role calls for experience in recruiting, training and managing a large volunteer network.
The successful applicant will possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. We are seeking someone with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team. Advanced administrative skills are required, with the ability to use Microsoft Office products. Experience working with confidential information and an understanding of Privacy and OH&S legislation is essential.
This is a part-time position (30 hours per week), with competitive benefits, including salary packaging and a team orientated, friendly work environment. Occasional travel, weekend and evening work is associated with the role.
The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and National Criminal History Record. Signature of a Good Character Declaration on commencement is also required.

Casual or Contract Trainer
The Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC) Learning and Development Unit (LDU) is looking for casual trainers to conduct the 1 day course Working with Aboriginal People
Course overview - This one day workshop assists participants to gain a greater understanding of Aboriginal cultural networks and relationships. It establishes a context for working with Aboriginal people, and provides a range of practical tools and mapping techniques to specifically assist community mental health support workers to provide appropriate services and support. The course explores how cultural understandings can impact on the assessment and support of Aboriginal people with mental health issues. The course also assists workers to identify and engage key stakeholders who can assist them to work collaboratively with Aboriginal people within the community. This course is conducted throughout NSW.
