Notice of Annual General Meeting

Notification of MHCC Annual General Meeting

Thursday 10th December 2009

Australian Technology Park Redfern

Please join us for an informative morning which will include key note speakers on current important policy directions, presentation of the key findings from the Mental Health NGO Mapping Project, launch of the ‘breathe easy’ project findings, the graduation ceremony for class of 2008 – 2009 and culminating with the AGM.

Key Note Speakers:

Dr Richard Matthews, Deputy Director General, Strategic Development Division, NSW Health, will speak about the NSW Health NGO Grant Review currently being undertaken by NSW Health and the likely implications for NSW Health funded NGOs.

Hon. Rob Knowles OA, Chair of the Mental Health Council of Australia, will speak about the National Health and Hospital Reform Commission Report and the controversial recommendations provided about reform to the mental health system.

Graduation Ceremony:

A ceremony for graduates achieving qualifications through the MHCC Learning and Development Unit (LDU) in 2008 – 2009 will be held.

Presentation:

MHCC will be presenting the findings of the Mental Health NGO Sector Mapping Project. Many of you will remember the survey you completed at the beginning of the year which covered everything from accreditation to referral pathways to target populations, formal agreements, outcome measures and much more. We now have a much better picture of how many there are of us, what we do, where we do it, how and how much we do and what matters most to us. Come and see the picture of our sector your collective input has produced.

Launch:

MHCC will be proudly launching the ‘breathe easy’ Smoking Cessation Final Report

A delicious morning tea will be provided.
